Covid-19 Vaccination Clinics For students age 12 and up When: Tuesday, August 24 and Tuesday, September 14 Where/Hours: Fayetteville High School: 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in Bulldog Arena Ramay Jr. High: 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon in the gymnasium Woodland Jr. High: 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the back gymnasium Students can receive either their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine at these clinics. Due to the winter weather, road conditions, and power outages, Fayetteville Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, February 18, and Friday, February 19 for snow days (no virtual learning). All buildings will be closed, and all activities are canceled. In order to meet the state requirement for 178 student contact days, the school year will now be extended through Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

During Spring Break, FPS Child Dept. will provide free breakfast & lunch meals at the Owl Creek School from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mon, - Fri. Breakfast & lunch can be picked up at the same time. Meals are free to anyone 18 and younger. The child must be present to receive a meal.

The FPS Outback food pantry is open DAILY this week from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to provide groceries to families. We normally provide non-perishable food items and frozen meat, but due to recent donations, we are now able to add fresh fruit, lettuce, bread, and eggs to the food boxes. Since next week is Spring Break, we will be giving double boxes on Friday, March 20. The Outback is accessible to families by two different public transit bus routes and is located at 2350 Old Farmington Rd. in Fayetteville on the ALLPS campus.

The second day of the True Lit Festival brought national-award winning author and MacArthur Fellow Gene Luen Yang to the FHS Performing Arts Center to speak to all eighth and ninth-grade students. Mr. Yang also led two writing workshops for select groups of students. Special thanks to the Fayetteville Public Education Foundation and the Fayetteville Public Library for bringing Mr. Yang to speak to our students for the Blair Lecture Series.

Dear Ramay Family: We are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Parent-Teacher conferences! Fall Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on the following dates and times, as established on the District’s board-approved calendar: Tuesday, October 22 from 3:45 to 6:45 p.m. OR Friday, October 25 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Either date you attend will be fine. Parent will report to the Ramay Library to retrieve ACT-Aspire scores, a copy of your students report card and to fill out a parent survey. Parents then will report to the cafeteria to visit teachers.

The Ramay Pre-Engineering program partnered with the Fayetteville Humane Society to build 3 dog houses for their animals. Meek’s in Fayetteville and Lowes’s on MLK sponsored materials to build the houses. Ms. O’Neal’s GA classes built the houses and Mrs. Strasser’s Graphic Design Class designed the logo and flyers to showcase the project.
